Additionally, many of these programs are available to borrowers with credit scores as low as 640.

The housing crisis is in the rear view mirror in much of the country. Here in Atlanta northside, we have seen property values not just recover but take off. In 2015 the average single family home in zip code 30068 was found to be $390,233, an increase of about 25 percent since 2004. In all East Cobb, the typical family home lost value for several years but made it back-- jumping ahead 14 percent or more in value since 2004. However, where recovery has been slower, there are still bargain properties to be found.

“You just want to burn your house down and start over.” That statement was said to Lynne in August when she toured top builder’s sales models and new homes in Atlanta with the judges who were evaluating the most beautiful, functional, and fashion-forward model homes for the 2016 Builder OBIE Awards. As Lynne was leaving a stunning model home in Alpharetta, she let out a sigh, which prompted the interior decorator judge to commiserate, “You just want to burn your house down….”
Home decorating trends have made a seismic shift the past 18 months. Long gone is the “Buckhead Look” of golds, tassels and antique reproductions. Grays and muted cool tones are in, decorative elements are huge and geometric, furniture is unfussy rustic or glam, and there’s not a stained-wood kitchen cabinet in sight. Welcome to what Lynne calls the Metro look.
Many North Georgia counties like Cobb, Fulton, Cherokee, DeKalb and others are now at the extreme drought condition level, according to the Environmental Protection Division.
Right now the EPD is announcing that we’re at a (Level 1). However if conditions worsen, the EPD will call for mandatory water usage restrictions (Level 2). Many of us remember the drill from years past – Watering 2 days a week (even-numbered addresses may water on Wednesday and Saturday (4 -10 pm) while odd-numbered addresses may water on Thursday and Sunday) with no filling of fountains, car washing or power-washing of homes allowed.
However, even at Level 1 we can be good citizens and take steps to conserve water—

How do you cancel your Mortgage Insurance? The rules are fairly simple but there are also some gray areas. The following information has been shared by one of our mortgage insurance partners, MGIC.
